Body: “Kitty” Wright Service 01/14/26. Kol Hakavod - Well Done On behalf of the family, we want to thank everyone who is here this morning. Your presence is honoring to Kitty and is a comfort and strength to the family. Six Days Ago, God’s servant, Katherine “Kitty” Ann Early Wright went to be with the Lord. “Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15 **Revelation 14:13** “Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” Kitty is one who died “in the Lord,” and her death is precious to God because she is now with Him in a way that surpasses anything we experience in this life. The verse continues, “‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.’” No more suffering for Kitty. No more tears. No more restrictions in a worn-out mortal body. She now lays her works at the Master’s feet and enjoys His welcome home. I would like to direct your thoughts to the glory she is experiencing right now in heaven. This poem by Myrtle Erickson puts it well. It’s entitled “The Homeland.” “THINK – Of stepping on the shore and finding it Heaven; Of taking hold of a hand and finding it God’s hand; Of breathing a new air and finding it celestial air; Of feeling invigorated and finding it immortality; Of passing from storm and tempest to an unbroken calm; Of looking up—and finding it HOME.” Let’s pray: Lord we are here to celebrate the life of Your servant, Kitty Wright. We thank you for a life well lived. We thank you for the lessons about life we have learned through her example. We ask You to direct this service as it would please you. Bless those who are here today. Open our hearts to your word and your will in our own lives. Amen. **Micah 6:8**: “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” Kitty lived that out. She didn’t just talk about it; she lived it! Kitty was the rock that anchored those around her. Still waters run deep, and there was a depth in her faith that few Christians’ reach. Paul reminded Timothy to stir up the gift of God in him for service to the Lord. In that exhortation he reminded Timothy of “the genuine faith” that was in him. Paul celebrated seeing that in this young man of God. But he also talked about how Timothy came into that through the influence of his mother and grandmother. Paul said that genuine faith “dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. 6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you . . .” (2 Tim.1:5-7). One task I am given from the Lord today, is to remind those who have received faith in Christ through the prayers and influence of this godly mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend—to stir up the gift of God which is in you.” Do not take lightly the mighty inheritance you have received from this godly woman. Honor her with a life lived for Christ. Today we are appropriately honoring a life well lived. It is right and valuable to do so. When we honor a godly follower of Jesus, we are honoring the Lord. I know Kitty well enough to know she would pass that honor on to Christ. She would quickly acknowledge everything good in her was and is by the grace of God. The only way anyone becomes truly righteous is by the grace of God. **31**“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. **32**All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. **33**He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. **34**“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. **35**For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, **36**I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ **37**“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? **38**When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? **39**When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ **40**“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ I don’t know the author or the title of this poem, but it speaks well of where Kitty is today. My prayers have all been answered, I’ve finally arrived. The healing that has been delayed, has now been realized. No one’s in a hurry, no schedule to keep. We’re all enjoying Jesus, just kneeling at His feet. If you could see me now, I’m walking streets of gold, if you could see me now, I’m standing tall and whole, if you could see me now, you’d see the pains erased, if you could see me now, you’d know I’d seen His face. You wouldn’t want me to leave this place if you could see me now. Amen. Father God, thank you for this time we’ve had to remember and honor this beautiful life. Let our tears begin healing, and our silence be filled with Your presence. Wrap each person here in comfort and calm. Give us rest in our hearts as You remain near. Walk with us in the days ahead and remind us that peace is still possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen. The Weaver My life is but a weaving Between my Lord and me; I cannot choose the colors, He worketh steadily. Often times He chooseth sorrow, And I in foolish pride; Forget He sees the upper, And I the underside. The dark threads are as needful In the Weaver’s skillful hand; As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned. Not till the loom is silent And the shuttle cease to fly, Shall God unroll the canvas And explain the reason why. **Romans 8:28** says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Paul assures the believer that he has God’s guarantee that everything that happens to him in this life will ultimately work for the good. Gods Willing Servant I got to know Kitty better about 12 years ago. My health left me, as I was hospitalized with not much hope. As all of us here know, Kitty was a willing servant of the Lord. Kitty took on a role of God’s Hands and Feet on this earth in my recovery. She gave me transportation back and forth to my appointments, she prayed and she encouraged me with scripture and her willingness to serve the Lord. Kitty encouraged me with her selflessness, her love, and just being an example of what service and faith in the Lord is supposed to look like. Kitty loved everyone, she was the kind of person that everyone wants as a friend. I never heard a complaint from Kitty. I never heard her speak badly of others. Only kind, edifying, encouraging words of faith that were characteristic of Kitty’s heart. Kitty was and is God’s willing and faithful servant, like none other that I have known. She served the Lord every day of her Christian life. Intentionally searching for ways to glorify her God. There isn’t time, nor could I possibly name all the ways that she served God, her family, her friends and even strangers. But I will share just a few of the ways that this amazing, Godly woman obeyed the Lord with her service to others. She gave of her love and time relentlessly. I think 1 Peter 4:8-10 describes Kitty’s attitude toward others well. **8**Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. Kitty served on the Missions Field here and abroad on several different occasions. One, in particular, that she shared with me was a trip to the Island of Guayaquil, Ecuador. Where she served as a nurse. She told me of a harrowing story of her getting from a larger boat to a not so large boat. She did overcome her fear, and everything turned out well. Kitty spent all the time that she was able with the youth at her church, community and of course with her family. Encouraging them to live their lives for Christ. The less glamorous and more demanding ministry that she served with was the Prison Ministry. Kitty was called and answered this call with no reluctance or reservations. I remember her speaking of this time with her prison ministry and how it was so rewarding to her to be able to share Gods word and the good news of Christ with these prisoners. Kitty loved sharing her and Harolds home with others. She was always entertaining friends, family, and groups at their home. She loved decorating with the help of Sandy. Kitty was a natural host, sharing with others about the farm, her family, and the Lord meant so very much to her. We seldom run across a person with such a desire to serve others as Kitty did. We seldom meet a person that loves others as Kitty did. Most never even know a person personally that is so very mature spiritually as was Mrs. Kitty. Kitty’s life was a life well lived. An example to be followed. As the body is laid to rest, we are comforted knowing that she is with the Lord. Although there is a void left here in the lives of her loved ones, God’s love will help us through this time of grief and change. As we hold on to the precious memories, the impressions that she made, and the Godliness that she lived and shared. Let’s allow these to bring peace and comfort in the coming days. Kol Hakavod – well done. Matthew 25:21 His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! …Come and share your master’s happiness!’ For what comfort it may be at this time, I am assured that Kitty was greeted with these words. Kol Hakavod, my good and faithful servant! Losing a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, or a friend is always hard. But losing them suddenly and unexpectedly is tough and we tend to want to know why. Paul assures the believer that he has God’s guarantee that everything that happens to him in this life will ultimately work for the good. He reassures us with his words in Romans 8:28. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” I would like to close with a poem, and my hope is that it may bring some comfort in the coming days. The Weaver. Father God, we thank you for sharing the life of your child and our loved one Mrs. Kitty Wright. Be with family and friends as we live our lives here without her. Remind us that she is with You when any discomfort or hurt comes our way. Bless us and keep us. In Jesus name. Amen.
